Very fine powders of super-expanded graphite. Ultra G+ powders consist of graphene structures with lateral dimensions of few tens of micrometres and a thickness of tens of nanometres.
Ultra G+ powders are obtained from Basic G+ through an air-shock impact treatment, which fragments its accordion-like structure in order to increase its apparent density up to 100 g/L. The powders produced in this way can be easily managed and used as a filler within standard procedures for making polymeric compounds.
The reduced size of Ultra G+ particles leads to a better mix and therefore a better processing of the material. Ultra G+, when properly incorporated into a host matrix, behaves as an excellent thermal and electrical conductive filler, also providing a good mechanical reinforcement and barrier properties.
